The veil that clouds my sight of the coming cataclysm has been lifted. I have seen into the void that even now prepares to swallow the world.

The sky is grotesquely swollen with misshapen clouds. They pulse with an unnatural red light, spilling black ichor like rain as they spear each other with lightning. Each dazzling bolt illuminates the masses below: thousands--no, millions--that shout to the unholy sky above. Their words are indistinct, but powerful. Angry. In perfect unison, they chant their hate as if in prayer.

Suddenly, they all raise their hands simultaneously. Every pair of hands I can see has the fingers crossed into an X shape as the chant turns into an unending scream. I turn my head upward and look with them. The clouds have parted to reveal something massive hovering overhead, something forming the shape of a moebius strip. The lightning strikes it and for an instant, I can see through the veil. I see clearly into the void. And I am screaming with all the others.

I've decided to keep a list of the individuals and organizations that appear in these visions of the future. Are they somehow connected to what's going to happen?

I've spent the past week testing the limits of my new abilities. From what I've gathered so far, I have flight, "super-strength", and the ability to heal myself and others. I'm starting to see why some of these "heroes" consider themselves gods.

Of course, the exhilaration that comes with the onset of such powers can be dangerous. I was distracted while preventing an armed mugging, and a photographer for the local paper was able to take several pictures of me. Before I could confront him, he was gone. The article was published yesterday, written by one Jim Strummard (the photographer at the scene was credited as Henry Townshend, another name I don't recognize). Apparently they've decided on calling me "Zealot", probably due to the fact that anyone with religious conviction is considered a fanatic these days. The article is pure trash, but I've actually grown fond of the photographs printed with it:

The Daily Sentinel is obviously pandering to the lowest common denominator, but it may still be a viable medium to spread the message I have been charged to deliver. I may have to organize a face-to-face interview with Mr. Strummard.

Last night, I was visited by the Almighty. I now know my purpose, I know why I exist. He bestowed upon me abilities beyond those of mortal man. Now, I am become His earthly messenger, the enforcer of His will.

This world is hurtling towards oblivion and I have been charged with saving it.

But I cannot do it alone. I must find others to aid me in this monumental task. If I should fail, it falls to you, whomever you may be, to read the following passages and carry on my mission.

Heed well these warnings, reader. Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.
